Here is the finished back of the blue jacket (plus the beginnings of the left front).
I had never tried Debbie Bliss's cotton cashmere before, but it turned out to be an excellent choice for this pattern. I think I'm going to like this jacket a lot.
Dad got a library card today! This was our first visit to the library together, and he really enjoyed picking out the audio books. The weather was rather hot, so I was actually sweating after the ten minute walk. You would imagine a wheelchair was easy to push, but no. Going uphill is hard work, dad's a big guy.
My neck is giving me some serious pain. I'm paying now dearly for all those years of working/playing/surfing on the computer without ever getting any exercise. I have regular appointments with masseur and osteopath, but I know it's just not enough. The trouble is, every type of sport gives me the creeps. Except if I can watch it on the telly. I remember past summers by associating them with Olympic Games, IAAF World Championships, FIFA World Cups etc. Oops, it's in the open now: I am a sports freak. Guess who has a week's holiday in August just to watch this?
It's going to be a busy weekend, tomorrow we will visit my mother and my sister, and I've got tons of work because I've been pottering around the whole week. The heat makes me sleepy, I just want to cuddle up in a chair with some cotton yarn and needles and forget all deadlines. My biggest deadline is 4th of July, when our holiday starts. All work should be finished by then. Ack. And it's not just work I'll be doing this weekend. Empire Poker has a 100% reload bonus, and I still have a long way to go on Noble Poker's first deposit bonus. But if you've ever played Texas Hold'em online you'll know it makes good knitting time. You know, folding several hands in a row, a couple of guys with a slow connection and voilà, you've whipped up a sweater.
